Dental Crowns An Overview
Dr. Lotardo may recommend the use of a dental crown for a wide range of cosmetic and restorative purposes. A dental crown covers the entire tooth surface like a cap, adding strength, aesthetics and lasting function. Dental crowns can be made from several types of materials, all of which have enjoyed advances in recent years and can provide a lasting result.

Dental Crowns What to Expect
Dr. Lotardo will recommend a dental crown when necessary to restore your dental health or address a cosmetic concern. The dental crown process involves a couple of visits to either our Riverhead or Roslyn dentist office locations.
The first visit will be for preparing the affected tooth and taking dental impressions to be used in fabricating your new, custom dental crown. A temporary crown may be placed as needed for normal function while a dental lab is making your final restoration. At the second visit, Dr. Lotardo will permanently secure your new dental crown, making any adjustments needed for a comfortable fit. The new crown will be polished for a smooth surface and natural luster, complementing or enhancing your natural smile.
